Abstract
Objective To study the application effect of Plan-do-check-action (PDCA) cycle management approach on continuously improving the quality of hospital prescription. Methods Outpatient prescriptions were continuously moni-tored and improved by the following 5 stages including plan,implementation,check,establishing consolidated measures, and summarization and further plan (between two cycles) from January 2011 to December 2013 in our hospital. Results Prescription qualified rate rose from 68.9% to 98.5% and outpatient antimicrobial usage rate decreased from 58% to 24% in our hospital from 2011 to 2013. Conclusion PDCA cycle method effectively solves the disconnections between system and implementation,execution and supervision in the past work to establish a complete and cycled quality con-trol system.Successful experience of applying PDCA cycle method in continuous improvement of our hospital prescrip-tion quality provides a reference for other quality management in our hospital.关键词
