Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of high frequency repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation ( rTMS) on motor thresh-old(MT)of depressive patients and its relation with efficacy .Methods 44 depressive patients were treated with 10Hz rTMS 10 times for two weeks .Motor threshold was measured pre and post treatment .HAMD and HAMA were evaluated to assess clinical symptom pre and post treatment .Results There were significant decreases of left and right MT between depressive patients and healthy population ( left:t=-4.44,P=0.00;right:t=-5.15,P=0.00).The left MT was lower than right MT in healthy population (t=-3.38,P=0.00),but there was no such asymmetry in depressive patients .HAMD were pre and post treatment and the difference was statistically difference ( ( t=6.19,P=0.00)),HAMA were pre and post treatment and the difference was statistically difference (t=5.73,P=0.00).There was no significant difference of MT between pre and post treatment .The right MT was negatively related with HAMD in depressive patients ( r=-0.39,P=0.02). Conclusion The excitability of the cerebral cortex is higher in depressive patients than that in healthy popula -tions.There is no asymmetry of cerebral hemisphere in depressive patients .There is no relation in MT and clinical symptom .关键词
