Relationship between Mental Health and Subjective Well-being of Paraplegia PatientsC aused by Tangshan Earthquake

Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between mental health and subjective well -being of paraplegics caused by Tangshan earthquake .Methods 119 paraplegics from Tangshan in Hebei provence were investigated with Symptom Checklist 90 and General well-being Schedule in Jan ,2013 to March.Results ①There were significant differences between paraplegics and the norm on general symptomatic index ,somatization,obsessive -compulsive,depression,anxiety,photic anxiety ( t=10.222,8.962,8.174,6.384, 7.553;P<0.001,t=2.505,P<0.05).②The difference of interpersonal sensitivity between different sex (t=-2.350,P=0.05)of pa-tients with paraplegia was statistically significant .The higher the income the paraplegics obtained ,the more sense of general symptomatic index(F=3.740,P<0.01).③General symptomatic index and subjective well -being,extroversion,life satisfaction,emotion and behav-ior control,relaxation and tension(anxiety)were negatively correlated (r=-0.519.-0.369,-0.412,-0.295,-0.577;P<0.01).The re-laxation and tension ( anxiety) could forecast the 33.2% variance of general symptomatic index .Conclusion Paraplegia patients have poorer mental health than the norm .Paraplegia patients with higher income are happier than those with lower income .Subjective well -being are higher for paraplegia patients with higher mental health .关键词
