Effect of Free Medication on Family Burden of Patients with Severe Mental Illness in Rural Community
摘要
Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of free medication on family burden of patients with severe mental illness in rural com -munity.Methods A total of 996 patients with severe mental illness who enjoyed free treatment policy were investigated by prevalence survey in conjunction with a retrospective study of Pinggu district ,the investigation table included homemade measuring table ,personal and social performance scale(PSP),Family Burden Interview(FBS),and the burden of disease rating scale.Results After one year of free treatment,personal and social performance scale score and health care costs had significantly different than those before free medica -tion(t=-2.309,3.361;P<0.05).There were significant differences in family burden and economic burden (t=3.719,6.117;P<0.001),daily household activities,family entertainment,family relationships,physical health of family members (t =2.351,3.309, 2.163,2.085;P<0.05).Conclusion Free medication can improve the social function of patients ,and reduce the burden of their fami-ly.关键词
