Relationship among Parental Rearing Patterns,Self -esteem and Internet Addiction of College Students

Abstract
Objective To study the relationship among parental rearing patterns , self -esteem and internet addiction of college students.Methods 719collegestudentswereselectedassamplestocompletethequestionnairesofEMBU,SESandCIAS.Results There were significant differences betwan gender in internet addiction perceptions ,in which male college students were severer than fe-male college students(t=2.42,P<0.05);the father rearing style of preferring to subjects (B=0.10,P<0.01),the father rearing style of rejection and denial(B=0.11,P<0.05),the father rearing style of overprotection(B=0.12,P<0.001),the mother rearing of ex-cessive inference,overprotection(B=0.12,P<.01),the mother rearing of rejection and denial (B=0.12,P<0.05),the mother rearing of preferring to subjects(B=0.09,P<.05)had significant positively forecasted the role of internet addiction;the father rearing style of warmth and comprehension(B=0.23,P<0.001),the mother rearing style of warmth and comprehension (B=0.22,P<0.001)had significant positive forecasted the role of self -esteem;the father rearing style of preferring to subjects(B=-0.08,P<0.05),the father rearing style of overprotection(B =-0.12,P <0.01),the mother rearing of excessive inference and overprotection (B =-0.11,P <0.01),the mother rearing of preferring to subjects (B=-0.09,P<0.01)had significant negatively forecasted the role of self -esteem;self-esteem had significant negatively forecasted internet addiction (B=-0.12,P<0.05);the fit index of the model of father rearing style,self-esteem and internet addiction were very good (χ2/df=1.857,GFI=0.989,AGFI=0.970,NFI=0.983,IFI=0.992,CFI=0.992,RMSEA=0.035);the fit index of the model of mother rearing style ,self-esteem and internet addiction were very good (χ2/df=1.905,GFI=0.990,AGFI=0.971,NFI=0.984,IFI=0.992,CFI=0.992,RMSEA=0.036).Conclusion Internet addiction of col-lege students has an important relationship with parental rearing patterns and self -esteem.关键词
