摘要

Abstract

Objective: To explore the relationship between personality and job burnout in the white -collar employees .Methods:Maslach Burnout Inventory -General Survey ( MBI-GS ) and Eysenck Per-sonality Questionnaire( EPQ) were used to investigate job burnout and personality in 217 white-collar employees.According scores of MBI -GS,the employees were divided into burnout -group and un -burnout group .Results:①The scores of psychoticism and neuroticism in burnout group were significantly higher than un-burnout group ,whereas the scores of extroversion in burnout group were significantly low-er than un-burnout group .②There were significantly positive correlations between psychoticism and e-motional exhaustion(r=0.158,P<0.05)and cynicism(r=0.257,P<0.01).Extroversion were signifi-cantly negative correlations with three dimensions of burnout .Neuroticism were significantly positive corre-lations with three dimensions of burnout .③ Emotional exhaustion depended on extroversion ( P<0.01 ) and neuroticism (P<0.05).Cynicism depended on psychoticism (P<0.01),extroversion(P<0.01) and neuroticism ( P <0 .01 ) .Low sense of accomplishment was only influenced by extroversion ( P <0.01).Conclusion:The personality of burnout is group characterized by that higher score of neuroticism and psychoticism ,lower scores of extroversion than non -burnout group .Furthermore , personality was a predictor of job burnout .
