摘要

Abstract

Due to the effects of intersection channelization on signal timing, a coordinated optimization ap-proach was proposed. First, signal timing optimization of the current intersection was given based on traf-fic survey;and second, the channelization was modified according to the mentioned signal timing design and the current situation of the intersection, and new optimized signal timing scheme was obtained by us-ing Synchro simulation software;and last, the final scheme was gained from the two schemes. The result of a practical example shows the given approach can improve the service level of the intersection with a little channelization modification, and especially applies to the crowed intersections.
