The Effects of Different Nitrogen Application Rates on Cotton Yield and Nitrogen Use Efficiency

Abstract
This study is to provide the scientific basis for sustainable development of cotton production in Jiangxi and reasonable application of nitrogen fertilizer in cotton cultivation in the cotton regions in northern Jiangxi.The authors had location test of different nitrogen amounts:0,150,300,450 and 600 kg/hm2 in the cot⁃ton regions from 2008 to 2012,to probe into the effect of fertilizer amount on cotton yield and nitrogen use effi⁃ciency.The results showed that:the highest yield of cotton nitrogen application amount was 350.1 kg/hm2,the economic optimum application amount of nitrogen was 308.7 kg/hm2 in the cotton regions;the nitrogen appar⁃ent recovery efficency,nitrogen partial factor productivity and nitrogen agronomic use efficency significantly de⁃creased with the increase of nitrogen application amount;nitrogen application could significantly increase the cotton boll number per plant,cotton yield and output value;no nitrogen fertilizer and reducied nitrogen fertilizer could increase the rate of pre-frost flowers.关键词
