Abstract
This research choose the Shangyu Old Street in Zhejiang Province as the location of the field survey. Introducing the environmental mediation theory, we construct a new-set named Life-Component, which has both minimal impacts of the traditional street and maximum activities, by means of investigation, design, making, construction. After the observation of its usages, we initial y realize the micro-retrofits of Shangyu Old Street and balance the various elements in the street environment. During the teaching process, it leads the teacher and students to explore the possibility of harmonious coexistence between the traditional street and modern life. In addition, it develop their abilities of social care as architects.关键词
