Abstract
This paper initiates a reflection on the modernization of city problems from Xingjiao Temple demolition event, and the use of biological terms "Homeostasis" to explain the characteristics of city gene. Homeostasis of city gene is that city gene unifies the diachronic and synchronic in the long-term evolution, is that a continuation of the intrinsic properties of the city, is that the city spirit. The memories of the city is total y like the city gene highlighting the uniqueness of a city and constituting the cultural capital of a city.
