摘要
Abstract
By using the traditional linear Granger causality test, Hiemstra and Jones nonlinear Granger causali-ty test and the nonlinear Granger causality test with ARCH effect, this paper makes an empirical study on the im-pact of government debt on household consumption in China with the data from 1983 to 2010. The results show that China's government debt does not have a positive impact on household consumption and there is no Granger causality relationship between them;the thought of Ricardian debt accords better with the real situation in China than that of Keynesian debt. The reason why there is no Granger causality relationship between China's government debt and household consumption may have the following two points:the financial awareness of Chinese is relative-ly weak, people's income is inequality and the social security system is imperfect in China.关键词
