Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the application of a homemade tooth extraction device in extraction of multi-rooted teeth. Methods: Homemade separation root device consists of a four-grooves structure in components of tooth edge , a long pole of 12 cm, a transverse handle and a convex hammer and chisel base at the top. 200 multi-rooted teeth were randomly divided into 2 groups. Group 1(n=100), teeth were extracted using homemade new instrument. Group 2(n=100), teeth were extracted using conventional devices. Extraction procedure and postoperative outcomes were recorded and compared. Results: There were significant difference in operative duration and postoperative complications between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion: The homemade root separation device is safe in operation, less injury of tissue , little sufferings of patients and other advantages.关键词
