Abstract
Objective:To discuss the appropriate surgical approach on the treatment of parapharyngeal space (PPS) neo-plasms. Methods:From January 2013 to July 2013, 10 PPS tumors were retrospectively reviewed. The transoral approach, transcervical approach, transcervical combined with transparotid approach, and transcervical combined with trans mandibular approaches to PPS neoplasms were practiced. Results: All tumors were resected completely without any tech-nical difficulty. Transoral incision healed quickly without any complications. The main considerations for the option of sur-gical approaches were tumor location, tumor size, and pathology of tumors. Conclusions:Transoral approach achieves bet-ter cosmetic results.关键词
