Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy of using artificial femoral head replacement to treat elderly patients with unstable intertrochanteric fractures. Methods It was used for artificial femoral head replacement to treat 18 eld-erly patients with unstable intertrochanteric fracture, applying X-ray to observe fracture healing and Prosthesis, using Harris hip score to evaluate the curative efficiency. Results All patients were successfully operated, no wound in-fection, dislocation and other complications were found. 1 case occurred postoperative deep venous thrombosis, 3 ca-ses occurred stress disorder, but they returned to normal after symptomatic treatment. 2 patients died, 1 patient died of myocardial infarction after 8 months, 1 patient died of lung infection after 14 months. 16 cases were followed up for 12 ~ 48 months. After 12 months, according to Harris scoring system to evaluate the efficacy, the results was excel-lent in 8 cases, good in 6 cases, fair in 1 and poor in 1. Conclusions Advantages of using artificial femoral head replacement to treat elderly patients with unstable intertrochanteric fractures are less surgical trauma, fewer complica-tions, and be able to get out of bed early, can significantly improve the quality of life of patients, so it is an effective method of treatment.关键词
