Abstract
Objective To explore the expression and relationship of Galectin-3 and Bcl-2 protein in the different pathological grade of astrocytomas .Methods S-P immmunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of Galectin-3 and Bcl-2 protein in 46 patients with human astrocytomas and 8 of normal brain tissues .The relationship between the expression of Galectin-3 and Bcl-2 protein in the human astrocytomas was analyzed statistically .Results There was no expression of Galectin-3 and Bcl-2 protein in the normal brain tissues .The positive expression rate of Galectin-3 was different statistically in different pathological grade of the astrocytomas , but the expression of Bcl-2 was not significantly different .The expression of Galectin-3 was positively associated with the expression of Bcl-2.Conclusions The expression of Galectin-3 may be involved in tumoriogenesis and development of astrocytomas .Galectin-3 may also possibly act on restraining apoptosis by adjusting the expression level of Bcl-2.关键词
