Change of IL-33 and possible effects in brain following SAH in rats

Abstract
Objective To study the change of IL-33 in the brain cortex after subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH) in rats, and discuss the possible roles of IL-33 after SAH.Methods Sprague-Dawley ( SD) rats were randomly divided into sham group and SAH groups at 2 h, 6 h, 12 h,24 h and on day 2 , day 3 .Prechiasmatic cistern model of SAH was chosen .The change of IL-33 was measured by western blot and immunohistochemistry .The mRNA levels of IL-33 and IL-1βwere also detected by real-time PCR.Results Our study found that SAH could improve the level of IL-33 .And a positive relationship between IL-33 and IL-1βcould be found .Conclusion SAH induced a time-dependent upregulation of IL-33 mRNA and protein expression in the cortex ,and IL-33 might play an important role in the inflammation after SAH .关键词
