The Effect of Metabolic Factors of Bone Turnover Markers in Elderly Males
摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of metabolic factors of bone turnover markers ( BTMs) in elderly males. Methods We conducted a cross-sectional study of 337 males aged 60-91 years old, admitted to our hospital during May and Ju-ly 2011 for routine physical examinations. The 337 patients were divided into different groups according to BMI levels, glycome-tabolism status, lipid status and blood pressure status, and the blood test was taken to detect BTMs, parathyroid hormone, 25-hydroxy-Vitamin D, metabolic indicator and other biochemical indicator. For BMI group, patients in group A had BMI lower than 24. 0 kg/m2 , while group B and C had BMI 24. 0~27. 9 kg/m2 and no less than 28. 0 kg/m2 . For glycometabolism status group, group A, B and C were divided as normal glycometabolism, pre-diabetes and diabetes. For the lipid group, the patients were divided into group A in case of no dyslipidemia, and group B in case of dyslipidemia. For the blood pressure group, the pa-tients were divided into group A and B according to no hypertension or hypertension. Basic-data and metabolic disorder were ob-served and compared. Multiple linear regression analysis was used for influencing factor of BTMs, and in accordance with glyco-metabolism, the BTMs differences of different groups were evaluated. Results P1NP and CTX were found to be negatively asso-ciated with age, CTX was positively associated with Cr, OC and P1NP were positively associated with serum phosphate, P1NP was also found to be positively associated with ALT, the three markers were all positively associated with PTH, OC was also pos-itively associated with 25-hydroxy-vitamin D, OC and P1NP were negatively associated with blood glucose status(P<0. 05). 3 groups of OC, P1NP and CTX levels were significantly different in different situations of glucose metabolism (P<0. 05), A, B, C 3 groups of OC, P1NP and CTX were all significantly decreased as the impaired glycometabolism status aggravated. In addition to group B and group C, the CTX levels have no significant difference (P>0. 05) , and differences were statistically significant between other serum BTMs 3 groups ( P <0. 05 ) . Conclusion Glycometabolism status is significantly associated with bone turnover markers. Glucose is the major influencing factor of bone formation status.关键词
