Abstract
Objective To explore the association between myopia and primary open angle glaucoma ( POAG) by Meta-analysis.Methods Relevant studies, published up to July 20, 2013, were searched from CNKI and VIP databases . After data extraction, a meta-analysis was performed using CMA (comprehensive meta analysis) v2.2 software.Results Five studies were finally recruited , including 3 studies that reported the association between myopia and POAG independ-ently.The results of meta-analysis showed that myopia evidently increases the risk of POAG by 3.07 times ( OR=3.07, 95%CI=1.90~4.96), and high myopia obviously increases the risk of POAG by 7.15 times (OR=7.15, 95% CI=4.01~12.75).Sensitivity analysis showed that the results were robust .The publication bias analysis was not conducted . Conclusion Based on the current evidence , myopia is probably an independent and significant risk factor for POAG , and the high myopia persons were with higher risk for POAG .关键词
