摘要

Abstract

Based on BB180 waveguide power combiners and double-channel micro-strip probe transition, a compact high efficiency power-combing system is presented in this paper.High efficiency is realized by using waveguide-combiner,and utilizing double-channel microstrip probe transition structure,the power mini-modules are stacked,so high power density output is realized in Ku band.Firstly,by analyzing the model of waveguide combiner and double-channel micro-strip probe transition using HFSS software,the simulation result is provided.In engineering design,peak-power output of the mini-module constructed by GaN MMIC is 25W.The HPA module combines 8 modules to produce up to 180W output in Ku-band(19%duty cycle).The total passive combing efficiency is up to 85%,PAE is over 25%,and the power density is 0.135 W/cm3 .So a high efficiency and high power density RF output amplifier is realized in Ku-band.
