Abstract

Double-branched transmission line is a special structure in the extension and reconstruction of transmission lines.It can be used to increase the capacity of transmission lines, improve transmission corridors' use efficiency, save cost, shorten construction pe-riod and outage time.A model for double-branched lines has been established based on its structure, and on this basis, effect of the double branched structure to selectivity of ground distance protection has been discussed.The analysis shows that, for transmission lines with double-branched structure, it only needs to calculate zero-sequence compensating coefficient with the correct actual meas-ured value of the newly structured lines or the adjusted parameters, that can get reasonable setting values in the light of the original setting calculation method for usual lines.It provides more reasonable principles when determining the grounding distance protection settings.
