Correlation Research between Career Planning and Professional Identity of Nursing Undergraduates

Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between professional identity and career planning of nursing undergraduates and to provide reference for establishing the guiding system of undergraduate nurses ’ career planning. Methods Totally 503 nursing students were investigated by nursing undergraduates ’ professional identity questionnaire and nursing college students career planning questionnaire. Results There was no significant difference on scores of career planning of students with different gender and from different birthplaces (P>0.05). But significant difference in total score of career planning and scores of self-recognition, employment confidence, career orientation among nursing undergraduates from different grades ( P<0.05). There were significantly positive correlations between career planning and professional identity of nursing undergraduates. Professional affection, professional skill, professional volition and professional knowledge were predictors of career planning. Conclusion There are close correlations between professional identity and career planning of nursing undergraduates. The undergraduate nursing education should pay attention to improve the guidance of professional identity and the level of the personal career planning of nursing students.关键词
