摘要

Abstract

Due to the existence of severe interference on real stands, little stands reach its full stocking. Methods from statistics of extreme values were used to study the self-thinning line for larch ( Larix olgensis Henry) plantation. After de-termining a threshold, the generalized Pareto distribution function was used to fit the threshold excesses. The extreme maximum number of stem that a stand can support was abtained. The relationship between the maximum number and di-ameter revealed the self-thinning line through analysis of regression.Using 1 511 pots data collected from several area of Heilongjiang as an example. The self-thinning line for larch plantation was obtained. Results obtained in this paper were consist with the Reineke equation.
