Abstract
It will be valuable for us to deeply comprehend human beings and human life when studying Feng You-lan’s theory of the four realms of life from a meaning-based perspective as follows.1) The human activity of endo-wing something with meanings includes a lot of contents such as rational cognition , value norm, aesthetical senti-ment, or religious faith.The infiniteness of meanings will transcend over the conceptualized rules derived from hu -man introspection and comprehension .2 ) The so-called realm is a way of differentiating meaning dimensions , which are open to the future or the unknown and which in turn contribute to the formation of various realms .3) To enrich the connotation of meaning dimensions is the key to sublimating the realms;and the transcendence of mean-ing will be perfected by one ’ s making efforts against the backdrop of socio-historical traditions and educational ex-periences by overcoming the limits imposed by the reality .4 )Human nature and the meaning of life will be made crystal clear only when put to test against life and experience in the real world .关键词
