Core Author Group's Maturity in International Knowledge Discovery Research Field

Abstract
In certain research field, core author group can extremely influence the direction and development speed of this subject, so its maturity is an important index to evaluate the maturity of certain subject. In recent years, knowledge discovery has become a significant hotspot in information resource management. To explore core author group's maturity in international knowledge discovery research field, this paper chooses 2723 literatures about knowledge discovery from WOS within time span 1993-2014 as research subjects. Firstly, candi-date core authors are selected by applying Price's law. Then we construct a bi-index evaluation system by combining authors' publishing quantity and their citation quantity together to evaluate the candidate core author group and 377 core authors are confirmed finally. After that, two types of maturity, one is the core author group's structure maturity and the other is the core author group's relevance maturity, are analyzed. The result shows that a powerful core authors group has formed, but there exists mismatch between the quantity and the cited rate in some core authors' publication. In addition, imbalance of the research on knowledge discovery widely exists among different coun-tries.关键词
