Abstract
Technology foresight, originating from the Technology Foresight Program launched in 1994, has been one of the routine work of the UK government. Foresight research group is afifliated to the S&T ofifce of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Skills of UK. Study of the technology foresight is fully funded by the government and led by the Chief Scientiifc Adviser of the government directly. It focuses on the opportunities and challenges produced by emerging science and technology, as well as many other signiifcant social issues, such as global climate change, lfood disaster, etc. The reports and policy suggestions released by Foresight group both play very important role in policy making of UK government and make huge inlfuence on the recognizing and addressing of the international issues. In this paper, the origin and history of the Technology Foresight work in UK were introduced, Foresight projects including ifnished and undergoing ones were outlined, the standards of project selection were summarized, and characteristics of UK’s technology foresight were analyzed. In addition, 3 individual cases were given to show the effects of the work of Technology Foresight in UK.关键词
