摘要

Abstract

Due to waste of large amount of low temperature waste heat,the low temperature multi effect distillation (LT-MED)seawater desalination system's energy consumption is increased.Since the low temperature heat can be transferred into high temperature heat by heat pumps,the combined operation of heat pump and LT -MED seawater desalination system can make full use of the heat.Thus,investigation on the LT-MED system equipped with and without heat pumps was conducted.The results show that,when the heat pump was applied,the unit energy con-sumption of the whole system was 23.27 (kW·h)/t,which is about 1 /7 times of that of the LT-MED system with-out heat pump.Therefore,application of heat pump in the LT-MED system can reduce the energy consumption effec-tively.
