摘要

Abstract

After the impoundment of Three Gorges Reservoir, the flood control situation in Dongting Lake region is severe in special flood years, and the water resources utilization problem is prominent. The variation characteristics of flood level, normal water level and low water level of Dongting Lake in different periods were researched by using hydrological data in different dec-ades. The causes for water level variation were studied, including water level variation in Yangtze River stem, sediment deposi-tion in Dongting Lake, runoff variation in the region, unable to carry out flood diversion and storage due to the lag of flood storage area construction, and human activities. The negative impact of water level variation on flood control and water resources utiliza-tion was demonstrated. The suggestions for further improving flood control system and water resources allocation projects were put forward.
