Abstract

In order to interpret the impact of ship-lock operation on water pollution, taking Gezhouba Project as a study ob-ject, combining field observation data and applying nonlinear fractal technology, the paper presents an analysis on the pollution distribution characteristics in the water zone of ship lock. Field observation shows that the navigation channels of both sides at confluence of main flow and tributary are the distribution zones of high pollution concentration of fractal dimension, the geometric figure of fractal dimension shape is clear, and the image fractal dimension is 2. 7263, which is higher than that at the edge of the nodes of centralized pollution zones. Image gray level difference in the same period can determine whether there is a statistical self-similarity. By calculation, the singular fractal dimensions (DB<2) are extracted to form a set and they are high pollution concentration zone and edge feature of high pollution concentration zone.
