Abstract

No. 3 to 5 release sluice and diversion channels of Zhentouba I Hydropower Station are permanent and temporary combined structure. In feasibility study stage, the construction of No. 3 to 5 release sluices was arranged in the 3rd stage con-struction. In design stage, the 3rd stage cofferdam at upstream was canceled after the construction organization optimization. In the construction of diversion channel, the 1st stage placement of No. 3 to 5 release sluice piers was carried out to 10 m and the 2nd stage was later completed with flood discharged through diversion channel. Power generation was realized through replacing cofferdam retaining at upstream by 3 emergency gates of release sluice. The first power generation was 7 months ahead of the planned time in feasibility stage.
