Abstract
Objective To understand the mental health of the on-duty policemen and policewomen in Qingyang District di-vision of Chengdu Public Security Bureau.Methods In 2013 May,366 policemen and policewomen were drawn from Qingyang District division of Chengdu Public Security Bureau through the random sampling method and the principle of voluntary partici-pation.The mental health status of 366 policemen and policewomen were investigated by symptom check list-90 (SCL-90). The 9 factors (somatization,obsessive-compulsive,interpersonal sensitivity,depression,anxiety,hostility,phobia,paranoia and psychosis)are included in SCL-90.Results The total SCL-90 score (143.95±52.23)of the police sample is significantly higher than the normal level (129.96±38.76)of our country (t=5.68,P<0.01).128 people (35%)of them have mental health problems and 34 people (9.3%)have moderate mental health problems.Except the interpersonal sensitivity factor,the scores of other 8 factors are significantly higher than the national normal level(P<0.05).Depression factor and paranoid fac-tor were positively correlated with the age(r=0.126、0.103,P<0.05).Conclusion The overall mental health status of the on-duty policemen in Qingyang District division of Chengdu Public Security Bureau may be poor,especially the people's police-men and the elder.关键词
