Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of transurethral plasmakinetic resection of the pros-tate(TUPKRP)in benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH). Methods Eighty patients were selected with certain diagnostic standard and equally randomized into two groups:an observation group ( n=40 ) and a control group ( n=40 ) . The former was treated by TUPKRP while the latter by TURP;both clinical efficacy and complications were compared between both groups. Results Both operation time and amount of the prostate tissue resected were similar in both groups(P>0. 05), but intraoperative blood loss, time of bladder irrigation, indwelling time of urinary catheter and postoperative length of stay in the observation group were superior to those in the control group(P<0. 05). At 3 months after surgery, International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS), quality of life (QOL), postvoid residual(PVR)volume and maximum flow rate(Qmax)were improved compared with those preoperatively(P<0. 05), and no significant difference were found between both groups(P>0. 05). The incidence of complications in the observa-tion group(12. 50%)was lower than that in the control group(40. 00%)(P<0. 05). Conclusion TUPKRP is an ideal treatment for BPH so far, with good efficacy and mild complications.关键词
