Abstract
A three⁃dimensional physical model test and a sectional model test were set up combined with the second phase construction of a ferry terminal, which was designed to adopt double vertical barriers structure. The design wave parameters for the wharf structure and the breakwaters were obtained in a wave basin. Different schemes of the barrier of the wharf and the scheme of extending the breakwater were applied. Based on the results of the test, the wave heights distribution in different schemes was studied and analyzed to determine the optimal scheme. The influence of wave direction on wave diffraction was studied, along with the influence of the significant wave height ratio and the relative water depth on the wave transmission coefficient. It was also analyzed the influ⁃ence of wave reflection on the tranquility of the harbor. It is shown that wave heights are smallest near the middle and one boat beam north of the wharf. A simplified method to calculate the wave height distribution is presented at last, which provides a scientific basic for the design and construction of the harbor.关键词
