Abstract
Based on analysis of the siltation mechanism in excavated⁃in harbor basin of the tidal reach, the method for calculating the siltation amount induced by circulating flow, density flow and the wave rise and fall was discussed in this paper. The amount and intensity of siltation for a planning project of a large excavated⁃in harbor basin in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River was also estimated. The calculation results show that siltation of den⁃sity flow is a major part of the total amount of siltation,whereas the circulating flow zone of the entrance of excavated⁃in harbor basin has the largest siltation intensity. This paper gets some universal conclusions by summarizing the correlation relationships between the siltation amount and harbor water depth, harbor water area, as well as the char⁃acteristic of incoming flow and sediment.关键词
