Comparison of Polysaccharide Content in Different Medicinal Parts of Poria Cocos from Different Origin

Abstract
Objective:To establish a method for determination of polysaccharide content of Poria cocos through the comparison of polysaccharide content in different medicinal parts of Poria cocos from different origin,so as to provide basis for specifications of processed commodities of Poria cocos. Methods:Ultraviolet spectrophotometry were used to measure the content of polysaccharide in different medicinal parts of Poria cocos. Results:The content of polysaccharide in Poria cocos from Anhui province was much higher than that from other Provinces. The content of polysaccharide was highest in white Poria cocos,followed by light red tuckahoe and cortex poriae cocos. Conclusion:There are some differences among the content of polysaccha-ride in Poria cocos from different origin and there are significant difference among the content of polysac-charide in different medicinal parts of Poria cocos. Poria cocos with deeper color or loose texture and that is rotting or impregnated contains less polysaccharide.关键词
