Abstract
Objective To observe the expression changes of high-mobility group box 1 ( HMGB-1 ) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen ( PCNA) in the cervical carcinoma tissues and to investigate the significance.Methods The expres-sion of HMGB-1 and PCNA in the cervical carcinoma tissues ( cervical carcinoma group, 70 cases) , para-carcinoma tissues ( para-carcinoma group, 70 cases) and normal cervical tissues ( normal group, 20 cases) was detected by using immuno-histochemica1 method.The relationships between PCNA and HMGB-1 and their correlations with the clinical pathologic pa-rameters of cervical carcinoma were analyzed.Results The positive rates of HMGB-1 in the cervical carcinoma group, para-carcinoma group and normal group were 95.7%(67/70), 22.9%(16/70) and 5.0%(1/20), respectively; and there were significant differences between each two groups (all P<0.05).The positive rates of PCNA in the cervical carci-noma group,para-carcinoma group and normal group were 90.0%(63/70) , 65.0%(45/70) and 45.0%(9/20), respec-tively;and there were also significant differences between each two groups (all P<0.05).The expression of HMGB-1 was related with the degree of tumor differentiation, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage;and the expression of PCNA was re-lated with the degree of tumor differentiation, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage (all P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between PCNA and HMGB-1 (r=6.82, P<0.05).Conclusions The expression of HMGB-1 and PCNA in the cervical carcinoma tissues is significantly increased.The combined detection of HMGB-1 and PCNA may act as an indicator to determine the prognosis of patients with cervical carcinoma.关键词
