Effects of different pruning methods and fertilization techniques on cut-flower wintersweet(Chimonanthus praecox)growth

Abstract
Waigang wintersweet from Jiading District,a superior cut-flower (Chimonanthus praecox )variety,was used as a test material,the effects of different pruning methods and fertilization techniques on wintersweet growth were analyzed.The results showed that the following year good cut-flower branches were formed by heavily-pruning after flowering.For biennial branches of 3 -4 year-old wintersweet,it’s best to be natural length and 10 branches/plant;The optimum amount of organic fertilizer and superphosphate as base fertilizer were respectively 667 g/plant and 60 g/plant on 5 -6 year-old wintersweet after heavily-pruning,the average new shoots length was 79.6 cm,short branches proportion of total new branches was 78.2% and the total number of flower buds was 383.5 on average each biennial cut-flower branches.关键词
