Abstract
By establishing hydrogeological conceptual model and mathematical model based on GMS (Groundwater Model System), the hydrogeological parameters, boundary conditions and initial conditions obtained by hydrogeological investigations and pumping test are used as the initial values of model parameters, and then the changes of water table around the impervious wall are analyzed by numerical simulation and the impacts on water tables of neighboring regions after the impervious wall's construction are discussed. The calculation results show that, (a) without considering the effect of seepage around impervious wall ends, the impervious wall has a relative small impact on groundwater; and(b) the groundwater level at the place with 50 m downstream of the impervious wall drops 1.5 m after the impervious wall is built, and 1.1m drop at the place with 100 m downstream, 0.1 m drop at the place with 300 m downstream and almost no groundwater table change for the place with 400 m downstream. The comparison of groundwater movement characteristics before and after the construction of impervious wall shows that the impervious wall has slight impact on groundwater and will not bring new environmental problem of groundwater.关键词
