Abstract

Ultra High Toughness Cementitious Composites(UHTCC) is a new type of concrete materials with high toughness and good durability. It can do well in controlling harmful cracks used in Hydraulic Structure and improve the durability of the structure. In this paper, the size effect of compressive proper⁃ties of UHTCC has been discussed. During the test, experiments were carried out on UHTCC prism with different height-thickness ratio. The complete compressive stress-strain curves for different ratio of height to thickness have been obtained. Experimental results show that there is an approximate proportional relation⁃ship between the compressive peak strain (nominal strain) and the true strain. Different from ordinary con⁃crete prism test results, the ratio of height to thickness has little effect on the strength of UHTCC prism. However, the height-thickness ratio has a great influence on the peak strain of UHTCC prism, which re⁃flects the action of the hoop effect. Finally, based on the experimental results and analysis, we propose a compressive stress - strain model,applying to different height-thickness ratio.
