Effects of electric field stimulation on degrading phenanthrene by Enterobacter dissolvens

摘要

Abstract

Behavior of E�dissolvens under the exposure to weak direct current ( DC ) was investigated by using phenanthrene and Tween 80 as the main carbon source�When 10 mA were applied to the electrodes,the implementation of DC led to an obvious increase on the cell growth and phenanthrene uptake�Phenanthrene consumption increased 1�6 fold than that determined in the absence of electric field. When AC imposed,the growth of bacteria and the degradation of the phenanthrene were lower than the rate of direct current stimulation.
