Abstract

To optimize ultrasonic extraction of polysaccharides from the root of Aralia chinensis L.. The polysaccharide yield of the root bark of A. chinensis was used to measure the extraction efficacy. Water extraction was followed by alcohol precipitation. Four factors including time, temperature, ultrasonic power and solid⁃liquid ratio were optimized by orthogonal design method. The yield of A. chinensis L. root polysaccharides was 11�13% under the optimum extracting conditions:ratio of solid to liquid 1 ∶ 30 ( g/mL) ,80 min, 70 ℃, ultrasonic power 100 W. The polysaccharides extracted was stable. And the method is accurate,reliable and reproducible. The developed extraction process under optimized condition makes effective extraction of polysaccharide from the root bark of Aralia chinensis feasible.
