摘要

Abstract

Ionic exchanger AD⁃1 was used to study the adsorption of Neu5Ac from its aqueous solution. The maximal adsorption capacity of Neu5Ac onto the resin was 0�39 g/g, temperature independent, through a batch equilibrium system. The Langmuir isotherm was used to describe the thermodynamics. The macropore diffusion and the macropore⁃micropore diffusion in series accounted for the diffusion process of Neu5Ac- ions into the resin pores,the macropore diffusivity was 1�453×10-8 m2/min while the micropore diffusivity was 9�153 × 10-15 m2/min. The influence of the particle size on the ion⁃exchange process was also studied through the macropore⁃micropore diffusion model,which indicated that kinetics of the process could be improved by using smaller adsorbent particles. Good fitting was achifeved with the model,which verifies the accuracy of the model.
