压膜保持器与改良HawleyⅡ型保持器联合应用对正畸保持效果的临床研究
Clinical evaluation of vacuum-formed retainer combined with modified Hawley Ⅱ retainer

Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effectiveness of vacuum-formed retainers combined with modified HawleyⅡretai-ners by observing the retainment effect and peridontal condition. Methods Eighty malocclusion cases after orthodontic treatment from Depart-ment of Stomatology in Aerospace Center Hospital,were randomly divided into two groups:combination group and control croup. The pa-tients in combination group wore the vacuum-formed retainers in the day time and modified HawleyⅡretainers in the night time,while the patients in control group wore the vacuum-formed retainers all day long. Study models were fabricated for each patient at the day of debond and 12th month of retention. Effectiveness and periodontal health were evaluated by testing the periodontal index at the 1st,3rd,6th and 12th month of wearing the retainers. Results There was no statistically significant difference in retainment effect between two groups(P>0. 05). Gingival index and plaque index were lower in combination group than in control group at the 3rd,6th and 12th month of reten-tion(P<0. 05). Calculus index was lower in combination group than in control group at 12th month of retention(P<0. 05). Conclu-sion Both vacuum-formed retainers and vacuum-formed retainers combined with modified Hawley Ⅱ retainers have good retention effects during the 12-month retention period,but the combination method has less effect on periodontal health.关键词
