Exploration of the Dreams of the Chinese Railway Network

Abstract
This paper approaches the final scale of the Chinese railway network in three aspects. The first one is contrast and analysis by choosing 5 railway systems in the United States, Germany, France, Poland and India, which are similar to that of China. The second one is demand analysis. The third one is study on the relationship between amount of traffic, density of traffic and rail network. The results suggest that the final network of China is 315 000 km calculated on the basis of a low volume scheme with 8 billion passengers, 10 billion fright ton and transportation density of 40 million ton·km/ km.关键词
