An Analysis of China's Public Diplomacy to South Pacific Island Countries:Causes and Status
摘要
Abstract
In the era of globalization,public diplomacy is playing an important role in shaping national im-age and enhancing national soft power.In view of China's strategy of great marine power and the need of e-conomic development and the“diplomatic fight”against Taiwan,China really needs to win the understand-ing,trust and support of South Pacific island countries'people and enhance its regional influence.In recent years,through the development of cultural diplomacy,public outreaching to overseas Chinese,economic aid,and Confucius Institutes ,we have enhanced our influence in South Pacific island countries.However, due to competitive public diplomacy of other great powers,China's soft power and charisma in South Pacific island countries is still inadequate,and we need to broaden China's diplomatic space under the banner of“peace,cooperation,and harmony”.关键词
