华语电影片名英译原则与方法研究
A Study on the C-E Translation Principles and Methods of Chinese Film Titles
摘要
Abstract
The successful translation of the film title can summarize the content, theme and artistic value of the film, hence at⁃tracting foreign audiences’ eyes and arousing their desire to see it. However, the analysis and study of the English translations of a large number of Chinese film titles show that there are two major problems lying in the translation. The first problem is that the Eng⁃lish translation of the film title can not summarize the film’ s content, theme and artistic value. The second problem is that one film has two or more English titles. In order to solve such problems, the translator should follow information, art and business principles and flexibly adopt different translation methods like transliteration, literal translation, adaptation and creative translation to improve the translation quality of Chinese film titles and increase the competitive and influential power of Chinese films in the international film market.关键词
