Directive Radiation Based on Mu-near-zero Metamaterials Technique

Abstract
A technique based on mu⁃near⁃zero ( MNZ) metamaterial is proposed to achieve directive radiation of dipole antenna. The MNZ metamaterial operating around 10 GHz is constructed with classical split ring resonators.The originally omnidirectional radia⁃tion of a dipole antenna is converted into multibeam radiation by loading with MNZ metamaterial.The radiation performances of the iso⁃tropic and anisotropic MNZ metamaterials are compared,and the full wave simulation results show that the anisotropic metamaterial is superior to its isotropic counterpart.Finally,a multibeam radiation with three directions is illustrated by using MNZ metamaterial,which could reduce the construction cost of multipoint communication and have some potential applications in engineering.关键词
