摘要

Abstract

A traffic warning sign with characters detection and recognition method is proposed. According to the distribution range of the traffic signs′ color, it did threshold segmentation based on color components. It cot rid of most of the image which did not meet the requirements of the color of the area. With the help of a connected component labeling and form factor it located traffic signs. After the traffic sign was posited, by pretreating, correcting the characters′ rotation and segmenting, it got the characters which the human eye can recognize. It performed by the computer to recognize the character by using Euclidean distance matching method, and finally achieved the goal of computer recognition.
