摘要

Abstract

The survey of a buried active fault is the primary task of a seismic safety evaluation in Zhangjiakou City, China.Geophysical exploration using geological data and the remote sensing interpretation of data is one of many ef-fective methods for locating the active fault.This study used a comprehensive geophysical exploration model that combined the high-density resistivity method and the shallow seismic method.The faults,which were approximately 100 m deep,were found using the high-density resistivity method.This method provided the electrical properties and electrical structures of the active fault.Shallow seismic exploration is one of the most effective geophysical explora-tion methods and offers the highest resolution in the detection of active shallow urban faults.It also provides the ac-curate location and size of a fault and can determine the fault’s strata deformation age and related parameters.The high-density resistivity method can also improve the reliability of the shallow seismic method and the combination of these two methods can determine the fault’s formation properties more accurately.Actual drilling data proved that this comprehensive model is one of the best methods for active fault investigation.It has strong promotional and practical value.
