Effects of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate exposure during mid to late pregnancy on fetal de velopment

Abstract
Objective:To discuss the effect of different doses of di ( 2-ethylhexyl ) Phthalate ( DEHP) exposure on pregnancy outcome and fetal development during mid to late pregnant. Methods:40 healthy female Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups,control group (corn oil),low dose group (DEHP 100mg/kg),middle dose group (DEHP 500mg/kg) and high dose group (DEHP 1000mg/kg). On eleventh day of pregnancy,rats were given DE-HP/corn oil daily respectively by intragastric administration. On the nineteenth day pregnant rats were killed. The general condition of pregnant rats and the effects of pregnancy outcome were observed. Then recorded the placenta weight,the number of live births,the number of de-fects,the fetal body weight, body length, tail length and organ coefficient, to know DEHP ad-verse effects on fetal development. Result:Groups of pregnant rats were in good condition. Me-dium and high dose group of placenta tissue have obvious pathological change. Compared with the control group,the live births,the number of defects,the fetal rat body weight,body length, tail length and organ coefficient had statistical significance ( P < 0 . 05 ) in both medium and high groups. Conclusions:DEHP exposure during mid to late pregnant will impact the placenta and embryonic development,which could reduce the number of live births,increase the number of fetal abnormalities,and finally lead to adverse pregnancy outcome.关键词
