The prevalence and risk factors of urinary incontinence among women in Shanghai
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To determine the prevalence and risk factors for urinary inconti-nence ( UI) among Chinese women in Shanghai. Method:In this cross-sectional survey conduc-ted from Jan. to Sep. 2012,we analyzed the answers to a modified Female Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms questionnaire and other demographic and UI related questions provided by 7 884 fe-male residents aged≥20 years old from rural and urban regions of Shanghai. Risk factors for UI were determined by a multivariate logistic regression model. Results:The prevalence of UI was 28.7% in Shanghai. The prevalence of stress UI (SUI)was 23. 5%,mixed UI (MUI)was 2. 5%,and urge UI ( UUI) was 2. 1%. The prevalence of UI increased with age. Menopause (OR=1. 10),vaginal delivery ≥2 times (OR=1. 49),≥2 pregnancies (≥20 weeks)(OR=1. 34),first vaginal delivery age <20 years (OR=1. 58),history pelvic surgery (OR=1. 38), maximum fetal weight >4000g (OR=2. 66),low educational level (OR=1. 14),obstetric for-ceps (OR=2. 75),BMI≥30kg/m2(OR=2. 37),hypertension (OR=1. 33)and diabetes (OR=1. 14) are independent risk factors for UI. Conclusion:Among women in Shanghai there is high prevalence of UI,SUI was the most common type. The rate of UI increases with age. Ob-stetric factors are the main risks for UI,other high risk factors including low education level, pelvic surgery history, overweight, hypertension and diabetes.关键词
